Emergency Plans & Documents

The purpose of the Town Emergency Operations Plan is to provide the planning basis for a coordinated response to extraordinary emergency situations associated with natural, and human-caused emergencies or disasters within or affecting the Town. This plan is the principal guide for the Town’s response to, management of, and recovery from real or potential emergencies and disasters occurring within its designated geographic boundaries.

2024 Town of Truckee Emergency Operations Plan Part 1 (PDF)

Part one of the Emergency Operations Plan is the Basic Plan which provides the structure and organization of the Town’s emergency management structure, identifies roles and responsibilities, describes the concept of emergency operations, and identifies how the Town implements California’s Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), as established by federal and state emergency management entities.

2024 Town of Truckee Emergency Operations Plan Part 2 (PDF)

Part two of the Emergency Operations Plan is the Town’s Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Management and Plan Implementation. This part provides an introduction to EOC operations, processes, considerations, EOC sections and positions, and provides supporting documentation such as job aids and forms to support an EOC activation.

2025 Town of Truckee Evacuation Annex (PDF)

The Town of Truckee Evacuation Plan includes the Evacuation Annex. It is designed to provide the Town of Truckee with information on evacuation protocols. While no plan can provide a complete set of actions for every conceivable emergency situation, the procedures in this plan are intended to be flexible enough to account for a wide variety of scenarios with varying responsibilities for emergency response personnel.

2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan (PDF)

The 2024 Nevada County Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by FEMA on December 17, 2024 and adopted by Town Council on January 14, 2025. The Town of Truckee's specific annex within the Plan is included in the Nevada County Hazard Mitigation Plan - Volume II (PDF).

TFPD Community Wildfire Protection Plan

The 2024 Truckee Fire Community Wildfire Protection Plan is a collaborative effort to enhance the safety and resilience of our community from wildfires. This plan will develop an implementable and prioritized plan for risk-reduction activities and monitoring that promotes wildfire resilience in Truckee while working with partners and the community at all levels and angles to take a holistic approach to wildfire mitigations.

Nevada County's Roadmap to Resilience

Nevada County’s Office of Emergency Services is embarking on a countywide effort to plan for all-hazards that may impact our community and we are calling it our Roadmap to Resilience. The roadmap consists of four core plans – the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, the Community Wildfire Protection Plan, the Land Management Plan, and an Evacuation Study.
