Announcement of Truckee Town Manager Retirement
Effective July 1, 2020, our Town Manager, Jeff Loux has decided to retire from Town service. He has achieved a 40-year career in planning, environmental policy, governance, teaching, and nearly four years of dedicated service to the Town. Under his direction, first as Community Development Director and later Manager, Jeff led efforts to begin the update of our General Plan. He enhanced the Town’s work in sustainability, bikeways, trails and open space, and was instrumental in developing our emerging climate action plans, our approach to work force and affordable housing, and oversaw efficient and effective Town government services and budgets. Mayor Polivy applauds Jeff’s efforts in stating, “I want to thank Jeff for his hard work and passion in putting Truckee on the road to success. Many projects he worked on will have lasting positive impacts on our community.” We honor his service and wish him well in retirement and future endeavors. In his absence, Kim Szczurek will serve as Interim Town Manager, until a suitable recruitment can be completed.
