Governor's Stay Home Order Effective March 19, 2020

Post Date:03/20/2020 8:42 AM
March 20, 2020:

To Our Community :
At the end of business yesterday, March 19, 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed an Executive Order that is being commonly referred to as the STAY AT HOME ORDER. The order was effective immediately, which means Truckee is currently under the listed restrictions. At this time, there is no expiration date and the order is valid UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE from the Governor.

Do not be overly alarmed. This order formalizes what most of us are already doing. The order is not completely clear on what services can remain open. Those essential services that you need to live will not be closed. Non-essential businesses will need to comply with the order more than they currently are.
We will work together to understand and adapt to this new order. You will not be arrested for accidentally violating the order. The Truckee Police Department is here to help you and keep you healthy and safe.

The Town of Truckee’s essential services will continue as always. This includes but is not limited to:

• Full police services from Truckee Police Department
• Snow plow and road maintenance from Truckee Public Works
• Essential administrative functions will continue
• Your Town leaders and Town Council continue to strategize and lead government services
• Animal services in limited function and by appointment

Please call (530)582-7700 if you have any questions about a specific Town service.
We are highly confident that Fire/Ambulance services, Power/Water, Sewer, Cable/Internet and Hospital services will continue as they have been. We encourage you to contact those special districts and service providers directly with any specific questions or concerns
