There are over 900,000 law enforcement officers in the United States, and we feel that Truckee Police Department and our community are lucky to have the exceptional officers that we do. We celebrated National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day January 9th, and we would like to invite you to join us in honoring those who serve and protect our communities every single day.
We would like to recognize and congratulate our Officer, Employee, and Volunteer (VIP) of the year. Officer Donahue is tirelessly dedicated to our town and always goes above and beyond to keep us safe and monitor our roads. Valerie has been with the Department since 2015, and with her positive attitude and willingness to help she is a tremendous asset to our Animal Services Division. VIP Joe has been part of the Volunteer Program for six years. During this time he has earned two silver and three bronze President's Volunteer Service Awards.
There have been some updates in our organization. Truckee PD would like to welcome Luke McKinley to patrol. Officer McKinley formerly worked for Oakland PD. We are excited to have him as part of our team now.
