Town Focuses on 2020 Housing
Town has added a full-time Housing Program Manager.
The Town of Truckee has a rich history of facilitating affordable and workforce housing. As of January 2020, the Town’s efforts will step up significantly.
Building on the work of the Planning Division, the Town is adding a full time Housing Program Manager to study and manage a wide array of potential new housing activities such as: incentives for accessory dwelling units (“granny flats”), incentives for long term rentals, assistance to new strategic affordable housing projects, down payment assistance, exploration of short term rental options, employer based housing solutions, deed restriction programs, and exploration of Town-owned properties.
To address these expanded programs, the Town is very pleased to announce that Seana Doherty will be joining the Town’s housing team! Seana brings over 20 years of experience in facilitation, community engagement, policy analysis, funding and grant writing, communications strategies, and strategic advice for agencies and organizations. For the past three years, Seana has focused on housing as the lead facilitator of the Mountain Housing Council (MHC). Her MHC work encompassed activities to accelerate housing solutions in Truckee and the broader region. She also recently helped craft the City of Bozeman (Montana’s) regional housing action plan.
The Town believes in bringing the very best and the brightest talent to address Town issues, and we believe Seana perfectly fits that description. With her long history in Truckee, her work with the Mountain Housing Council, and her impressive communications skills, we look forward to her taking the Town to the next level in addressing critical housing issues.
