LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING

You must call the Truckee Police Dept. Records Division at (530) 550-2323 during business hours (M-F/8am-5pm) to schedule an appointment.  Appointments are made on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.  You will need to bring with you to your appointment: a government issued photo ID, cash or check (we do not accept credit/debit cards) and your completed Livescan form or fingerprint card(s).  If you do not have a Livescan form or fingerprint cards, please contact the agency that is requesting you get fingerprinted.   The California Department of Justice no longer accepts fingerprint cards.  If you are getting fingerprinted for California, you must get fingerprinted on Livescan.  Nevada, along with many other states, is still accepting the fingerprint cards.   Fingerprint cards are done for a fee of $20 per card.  Livescan fees will vary depending on whether or not you need to have clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ), the FBI or both.  Your requester will tell you what clearances you will need.  The requester should also provide to you an ORI number (this number is mandatory) and billing number (if they will be paying the fingerprinting fees.)   Truckee Police Department charges a $20 rolling fee for Livescans in addition to the fee charged by the DOJ and FBI.  If you have any other questions, please call the Records Division at the number listed above
