The Town of Truckee offers both fixed route and Dial-A-Ride service in the Truckee area. These services provide a range of options for travelers to access recreational, employment, shopping and social service opportunities while helping our region’s environment. Fixed route services vary by season.
During the winter season (mid-December through March) a fixed route service is offered 7 days per week between Henness Flats, downtown Truckee, Donner Lake, and Boreal, Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch, and Soda Springs ski resorts between approximately 6:05am and 6:05pm.

During the non-winter season (April through mid-December) buses serve the Truckee-Tahoe Airport, Recreation Center, Downtown Truckee, Gateway Shopping Center, Crossroads Shopping Center, Donner State Park and the west end of Donner Lake on a fixed hourly schedule from 9:05am to 5:05pm, every day except Sunday.
One-Way Bus Fare: Adult: $2.50; Senior / Person w/Disability: $1.00; Child Under 12: $1.50; Child under 3: Free
Day Pass: Adult: $5.00; Senior / Person w/Disability / Child Under 12: $2.00
10-Ride Punch Pass: Adult: $25.00; Child Under 12: $15.00; Senior / Person w/Disability: $10.00

The Truckee Dial-A-Ride service is offered year round to the general public with priority service for seniors and persons with disabilities. This paratransit service is available for trips within the Town limits, over the same hours and days as the fixed route service. Please call 24 hours in advance to schedule a Dial-A-Ride trip: (530) 550-7451

Transfers: Direct transfers to Placer County’s TART public transit service along State Route 89 (to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Tahoe City) and along State Route 267 (to Northstar, Kings Beach and Crystal Bay, in winter only) are available at the Truckee Train Depot. Other TART connecting routes serve Lake Tahoe’s North Shore from Tahoma to Incline Village.
