Truckee’s Clean Water Program

Clean Water Program

The Truckee Clean Water Program works with agencies, organizations, citizens and businesses of Truckee to reduce pollution in storm water runoff. The Program's goal is to enhance Truckee’s quality of life while ensuring that the Town meets or exceeds State legislated mandates involving storm water management and water pollution prevention.

The new Clean Water Program focuses on pollution prevention in our rivers, lakes and streams due to stormwater runoff. Stormwater is rain that travels over paved and other surfaces picking up oils, grease, dirt, trash and other pollutants.  This water enters storm drains and ditches before it ends up in our waterways. This water is NOT treated before it ends up in our waterways.

Vist our "What You Can Do" page for information on how you can do your part for the Clean Water Program.  Remeber--Clean Water Starts With YOU!
