Alicia Barr (Vice Mayor - email)
- Alicia Barr and her husband Andy left their corporate jobs, sold their house, and moved to Truckee because they loved the sense of community, the small town charm, and the beautiful outdoors. This move was soon followed by the birth of their daughter Sofia, along with the launch of two successful businesses. Alicia is a very active volunteer in the community, serving on the Truckee Tourism Committee, delivering meals through the Sierra Senior Services, and volunteering at her daughter’s school.
Prior to moving to Truckee, Alicia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at CSU Chico, and later her Master’s Degree at Stanford University. After college, she spent eight years working for Hewlett Packard. Alicia is very passionate about education, and has remained actively involved with her alma mater, serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association for several years, Lead Technical recruiter for CSU Chico and HP, and as an advisor for the College of Engineering Advisory Board.
In her spare time, Alicia is an avid paddleboarder, snowboarder, mountain biker and ultimate Frisbee player, where she is a 2-time World Champion.
