Captain Harwood Mitchell is the Support Services Commander. He has management responsibility for Police Administration—which includes personnel, training, and recruitment—and the Detective Unit.
Captain Mitchell came to the Truckee Police Department in 2005 from the Yuba City Police Department where he had been a patrol supervisor for eight years. He started his law enforcement career in 1990. Captain Mitchell loves the Truckee area and its year round outdoor activities. He spends his off duty time enjoying activities with his wife and three boys.
