CONTINUED FROM PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING ON JUNE 13, 2012

1. CALL TO ORDER

2. ROLL CALL: Chair Murphy, Vice Chair Ramos, Commissioners Beckman, Callaghan and Flora.

3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

4. PUBLIC COMMENT – This is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Planning Commission on items which are not on this agenda. Please state your name for the record. Comments are limited to three minutes. Written comments should be submitted to the Planning Division 24 hours prior to the meeting to allow for distribution. Under state law the Planning Commission cannot take action on an item not on the agenda. The Planning Commission may choose to acknowledge the comment or, where appropriate, briefly answer a question, refer the matter to staff, or set the item for discussion at a future meeting.

5.1 May 9, 2012 – Regular Meeting

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS

6.1 PUBLIC HEARING: Application No. 09-050(b)/DP (Tahoe Forest Hospital District Facility Improvement Project Development Permit). Applicant/Owner: Tahoe Forest Hospital District. Jenna Endres, Associate Planner.

The Tahoe Forest Hospital District (TFHD) is requesting approval of a Development Permit to renovate and expand the Emergency Department (ED) and Sterile Processing Department (SPD).

Staff Recommendation: That the Planning Commission adopt Resolution No. 2012-04, approving the Development Permit based on the recommended findings and subject to the recommended conditions of approval.

7. STAFF REPORTS

7.1 STAFF REPORT: Application No. 07-063/DC AMD Development Code Update (Timeline Update). Denyelle Nishimori, Associate Planner.

The Development Code Update process was created by staff to be a flexible process to be responsive to community and Planning Commission direction. The update process also allows staff to move topics around depending on workload, public interest and active land use applications.

Staff Recommendation: That the Planning Commission review the attached Development Code Update Timeline and accept public comment on all active, previously discussed Development Code Update topics. No further action is requested at this time.


7.2 STAFF REPORT: Application No. 07-063/DC AMD Development Code Update (Phase VI Development Code Amendments—Design Guidelines and Exterior Lighting). Jenna Endres, Associate Planner; Denyelle Nishimori, Associate Planner.

The Town of Truckee is proposing to amend the Development Code to implement General Plan Community Character Element and Land Use Element goals and policies.

Staff Recommendation: That the Planning Commission adopt Resolution No. 2012-03, recommending approval to the Council of Phase VI Development Code Amendments for Chapter 18.24—Design Guidelines and Section 18.30.060—Exterior Lighting.
