The Community Development Department is responsible for the administration of the animal control, building and safety, code compliance, and planning duties of the Town. The Department has 25 employees in four divisions to serve the community in administering these important duties.
Some of the Department's duties include administering the General Plan, Development Code, and California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines; providing support to the Town Council and Planning Commission on planning matters; administering the Town Building Code including the issuance of building permits and conducting inspections; ensuring compliance with Town codes; removal of abandoned vehicles; and animals
services within the Town including the issuance of dog licenses.
