Animals at Large Prohibited
At Large is defined as any animal allowed to stray on public streets or other public places or on private property (without the consent of the owner) unless they are under the immediate control of the owner or caretaker by means of visual and voice control, or by means of a leash, chain, tether, or adequate fence. The Town is currently operating under a "Maximum Enforcement" policy. This means that when an animal is identified as being at large by an officer, an administrative citation will be issued, posted, or mailed to the animal owner or caretaker.
Fines for an At Large violation start at $75.00. Subsequent violations within a twelve month period are $150.00 and $300.00.
For dogs that are impounded and are not spayed or neutered an extra fee will be charged. The first impound, $35.00, second impound, $50.00 and the third impound, $100.00.
